Who we are

Rooted in tradition and fueled by passion, our family has been farming in Black Rock, NS, for four generations. My husband, a third-generation farmer, grew up raising beef cattle on this land, and now we’re raising our two children with the same values—hard work, sustainability, and respect for the land and animals. We farm sheep and beef cattle, teaching our kids the importance of this way of life. What started as a mission to create clean, safe skincare, has become a passion project of sharing these products with others. We’re proud to share the benefits of homegrown tallow with others who care about what goes on their skin as much as what goes into their bodies.

What Does Beef Tallow Smell Like?

A common concern is that beef tallow might smell like raw beef—but rest assured, it doesn't. Through the rendering process, impurities are removed, leaving behind pure, clean tallow. The scent of high-quality, unscented beef tallow is mild and neutral. It doesn't smell like meat—it smells like tallow.

Think of it like this: butter doesn't smell like milk, even though it's made from it. It smells like butter. Similarly, tallow has its own subtle scent—soft, fatty, and slightly warm—but not meaty or overpowering.

When used in skincare or cooking, especially in refined or unscented products, the scent is barely noticeable and certainly not "beefy."
